Will you help and support the P4 DID Retreat 2026?
The preparations for the 2026 DID Retreat have begun, and this year, we’re going to a brand new-to-us location. The venue is awesome, of course. I take a lot of time studying available options and selecting a place that can work properly for us. That takes me weeeeeeeks of time to decide. It’s not a quick process, that’s for sure.
Then, once that huge decision is finally made, the fun can begin! One of the most happiest parts for me is approaching each of the individual spaces, and turning those places into peaceful, creative, interesting, DID-inspired designs so the whole dissociative system sees something they can relate to. That’s a big challenge for sure! Have you ever tried to create a space that is suitable for layers of inside people? It’s a fun task, but enormous at the same time. Especially when the goals are to promote healing, create connection, stay friendly, and remain memorable, in all the good ways!
Using puzzle themes and adding splashes of teal everywhere are automatically included around here. It wouldn’t be a Discussing Dissociation event without teal and puzzles!
Every new retreat location has a new list of requirements, and some supplies simply need to be refurnished. It’s a big big job… one that takes months of planning. I’ve already started process, and… there is a lot to do.
This year… well, I’m putting this out here. First time ever. Our DD Retreat Wish List is available for you to see. AND… I’ve got a message written for you about that.

Hello, hello Avid and Awesome DD Reader,
THANK YOU for being here and for reading here so consistently. You are greatly appreciated, for sure.
At this time, here at Discussing Dissociation, we are excited to announce our upcoming event, our annual P4 DID Retreat, October 6 – 16, 2026.
Since 2020, we’ve been hosting in-person, peer-support events where Dissociative Trauma Survivors can come together safely, in a compassionate, protected environment. These are unique opportunities, when the whole event is specifically DID-themed, and purposefully designed for different insiders, sharing life experiences, finding joy, and creating healing connections.
There are sooooo few places on earth where folks living with DID will be the majority. Will be already understood. Will be included. Will be viewed with respect. Will be welcomed with full acceptance.
Our retreats fill those needs — for dissociative systems to be the guests of honor, to be treated kindly, to play and have fun as a system, to have permission to be their full selves. We get to push away typical societal rejections and refusals, No more hurts and horrors! Not here. Not at the DD Retreats.
Our annual DID Retreat is a fantastic opportunity for dissociative trauma survivors to have many incredible healing experiences. Being peer-support focused, we have numerous group discussions on specific DID-related topics, we share ideas for living successfully as dissociative systems, we explore ways to support and advocate for the overall trauma community. As trauma survivors dedicated to healing and creating healthier lives, we strive to spread this hope to others who are still struggling to overcome the heaviness of trauma, pain, heartbreak, grief, loneliness, and abuse.
WE KNOW life can get better for dissociative survivors, and our retreat gatherings absolutely help to prove that.
These P4 DID retreats are truly amazing events, and yes, of course, they require months of planning and oodles of resources. We’ve done a good job in the past, and this year, we would appreciate any additional help and support to make sure everything goes off without a hitch.

Hello Kathy,
I’m new here.
I’m interested in attending and contributing to this event. I have no idea on how this works.
I’m seeing a Therapist for DID. I have been aware of my others for about 30 years and have not made much progress, finding a safe place is very hard to do however my new therapist is helping me.
Hello hello!
Thank you for having the courage to reach out. It is hard to find good resources, and you have stumbled upon one. I’ve asked Alex from the DD Care Team to write to you, and to open a discussion with you more privately via email than out here on the public blog. There is a whole lot you can still learn about your system, and I send you encouragement to know that progress is definitely possible. There are many, many things you can do to help you and your system in all sorts of ways. There are always, always positive options to try, so thank you for reaching out. There is hope. There really is.
Take gentle care, and please be looking for that email from Alex over the next few business days. 🙂
Warmly,
Kathy
Hi! I go by as a system “WeMake1” :). I wanted to ask if your retreats are accessible? I have acquired quite a few chronic illnesses over the years as a result of trauma and now use wheels to move…how accessible is your retreat location? Thank you in advance for answering!
Hey hello WeMake1!
Thank you for your comment — it’s good to hear from you.
I’ve asked Alex from the DD Care Team to contact you for a more personal discussion about the topic of accessibility. Please check your email over the next few business days. (maybe even tomorrow).
I’m sorry that trauma has been soooo hard on your physical self. So not okay.
Take gentle care, and thanks for stopping by.
Kathy
Hi,
My name is Cindy I’m a Nurse + author in Aus.
I’ve been Nursing for almost 14years but have now branched into writing.
My books are only centred around mental health conditions. My second one relating to DID.
Whilst I have done extensive research and first hand accounts of the system and condition in general I would love to have one final account of DID.
What does DID mean to you and your system?. What do you wish people knew?.
My books are created not from profit but from a need to awaken those that appear to be in a slumber regarding mental health.
If you’d like to add input into this book (anon) I would love to hear from you. 🖤
Hi Cindy,
Thank you for your comment, and welcome to Discussing Dissociation. Here, there is a whole community of dissociative survivors — lots and lots of DID systems read here, and participate here on a regular basis. I’m sure a few folks could be interested in hearing more information about what would be helpful for your book.
I’ll ask the Discussing Dissociation Client Care Team to email you and get more info. If there is a better email to use, please use the Contact Me page and we’ll get that directly in the inbox.
Thanks for writing, and best wishes for your book series.
Warmly,
Kathy
I bought some stuff. It is being mailed to you. I got a shirt for me; hope that’s OK. I also got jewels and people. See you in October.
Hi Ariel la Fae, 🙂
What a surprise to see your comment! And wow — thank you!!
When anyone selects something off the wish list, I have no idea who selected what item — I’m not automatically informed about that. It’s all anonymous for me on this side. I wondered about that t-shirt, and now I know who ordered that T-shirt, lol. Thank you for the jewels and little people activity as well. And yes, of course, it will be awesome to see you in October. Let’s plan on that! 🙂
Take gentle care….
Kathy
Hi Kathy,
What a brave, but good, idea! It’s hard to put requests like these out there, but maybe it’s a way we can all support each other? I am not able to join these retreats for various reasons, however, contributing makes me feel like I’m a part of them, no matter where I am.
Thank you for all your hard work and dedication to this community and the wider DID community. It’s made a difference in my life and I’m glad to say that we are finally, truly happy with ourselves. Life is never easy but we can cope and have peaceful, happy moments too. I know what to do when we need help, and how to enjoy life too. I thank you from the bottom of our heart for your help in teaching us how.
Warmly,
WeAreMe (formerly MultipleMe)
Hey hello WeAreMe !!
It’s awesome to hear from you again. I do know you more as MultipleMe, and both names are fantastic. 🙂
Thank you for your very kind comment — I appreciate that. You’ve said it well, and I’m glad to hear you’re doing well. And yes, the whole idea of supporting each other is central to the work at DD. Community connection is important, just like internal connection is important. Peaceful, happy moments are definitely important. I really believe in that the more trauma survivors band together, the better for everyone. There’s far too much fighting and attacking out there. Staying kind, compassionate and helpful is a much better path for trauma survivors.
Thank you for supporting the retreats with the items you selected — I definitely appreciate that. You have been genenerous! The retreats are absolutely fantastic, and yet costly to host, and a financial investment to attend, of course. I’m looking at ways to make this resource more affordable for more folks, and thank you for your understanding and support of that goal.
Take gentle care, and please stay in touch! It’s always great to hear from you.
Kathy
Hey, what if maybe you set up a go fund me link so people could help donate to the price of attending?
Hmmmmm, interesting idea, Rylie. I’ll have to give that some thought! Thank you. 🙂
I was just thinking that there might could be some people who cannot go themselves even though they want to, but maybe it would make them happy to help someone else get to go that couldn’t afford it.
