Even though I’ve had various websites about trauma and dissociation since 2003, you may not know me, and you may not know Laura. If we are strangers to you, how will you know if we have anything legitimate or important or reliable to say about DID? What do we know about Dissociative Identity Disorder? Why are we presenting at an international conference??
Oh, there are the hundreds of blog articles to check me out a little more, and a variety of You Tube videos, of course, but Laura has not been as public. Laura is the Discussing Dissociation Email Consultant, but also, our Forum Manager. She’s been here for years, even if less visible to the most of you.
So… what kinds of info do we teach? Do we have a solid understanding of trauma and dissociation? Do we “get it”? Or are we just another set of weirdos talking about stuff we don’t know?
Instead of taking my word for it, have a listen to what someone else says. This dissociative survivor has a strong voice, so I’ll open the floor for them to speak for themselves.
What you have learned from Kathy and Laura?
Do you recommend people listen to what they have to teach about DID?

So many good words, TW!
Thank you for sharing, for being an inspiration to others who are working through the hard bits of healing, and for encouraging those who are still learning system communication and system cooperation. Keep up the great work!
I look forward to seeing you at P4².
Warmly,
Kathy

Thank you for sharing your thoughts and experience here TW. So well said and on point! I really appreciated reading how important Kathy and Laura’s teachings have been for you and how P4 was such a powerful life-changing event for you. I could really relate to a lot of what you said here.
Like you TW, Kathy has offered me a life line here at the blog website that was crucial to my getting through the shock and denial of my diagnosis and then my system work that followed. I cannot express in words just how life-changing and life-saving Kathy’s wisdom has been for me. Then, Kathy was wise enough to bring Laura on board to help with the forums and consultations and the gains for us all have been exponential.
So, I would like to add my voice here to the recommendation of Kathy and Laura and the P4 conference. If you want to learn about DID and all of the parameters of what that means and how to do your systems work well … Kathy and Laura are the most compassionate, wise and dedicated professionals that I have ever experienced (and ya … I have encountered a lot of “professionals”)!
