    Hi Be and Kerriae,
Well, Kathy has already jumped in to tell you that there is a Zoom option if you cannot go to Chicago in person for the conference.
I just wanted other folks to know that you simply have to go to the conference website (link found at the top, right-hand column on each webs here on the DD blog website and top of the article here) and go to the registration link. The option to register to Zoom into the conference is there.
I Zoomed last year and it was great! I will be Zooming this year as well because I live outside of the US and cannot travel there.
Being at the conference in person has a lot off special advantages — namely meeting and interacting with folks in person. If you can go to Chicago, that is the place to be.
However, the Zoom experience has a whole other dimension to it that the Roomies do not have. Last year we saw videos made for the conference and had free time to share with one another on Zoom. If you are shy and have issues talking or even being seen, then you do not have to have your camera on or you can use one of the various disguises in Zoom. You can observe without being seen but I found it much more fun to actually have my camera on (even though I was super nervous about doing this at first).
It is nice to be your home environment as well to move around, take a break, get a snack or just chill if you need to. I know that folks in the room can do this as well (i.e., go back to their hotel room) but I found it comforting to be in my own home listening to the speakers surrounded by what I knew and loved (including my herd of stuffed animals).
This year Laura is going to be moderating the Zoom side of things so it is sure to be a lot of fun!
Anyway, I sure do wish that I could go to Chicago and be there in the room but I am very happy to be able to Zoom in and be present.

I so wish this was virtual also. I still believe this pandemic is real and I’m staying home IRL. I was recently diagnosed DID (officially) tho I’ve know and kept it secret for a long time. Makes me sad to not be able to attend. Sorry, I just don’t understand us pretending this is safe. 😷

Also as a covid survivor, all day in a mask is not possible. I wish it was different but perhaps I’m alone in that. Just feedback.

      Hey Be.

I have good news for you. YES, the P4 Event is ALSO virtual! You may attend in person or via Zoom. I’ll ask Email Alex to contact you with more information. But yes, of course, there is a virtual option. Travel is limited, and many people aren’t yet comfortable in gatherings. We will have LOTS of space in the Conference Venue, so social distancing will be an easy option, but Zoom is also an option for those who cannot come to Chicago.

Hope to see you Zooming it. 🙂

Thanks for your interest and feedback.

      Kathy
