The NEXT step ……
A free EMAIL COURSE starts TODAY !!
This Email Course has been specifically designed for introducing the Saddest Little Bear, and will hopefully, enhance your overall learning experience.
If you are already subscribed to the Email Newsletter, you will receive this Email Course automatically.
If you haven’t yet signed up for the Email Newsletter, please sign up ASAP !!
This Email Course will give some background information about working with your DID System, and will explain more about why I teach what I teach about DID System Work. The Email Course is written a little more for folks who are new to me — or when I am a new person to them — but everyone in the Discussing Dissociation Community is welcome to read the information, of course.
Who knows…. maybe some of y’all who know me well will still learn something new. 😀 😉
Please note: while I’m sending out the Email Course, that means you will be receiving more emails than usual, but it’s for a short time frame. I promise I won’t write that often ALL the time.
More of the story…..
I have been talking about these Bears for a long, long while. And you have been waiting a looooooooong time, too. I’m so sorry about that! I expected to have this first Story Pack available much sooner, that is for sure. You have been very very patient with me, and thank you for that.
But you know…. I am fussy and picky and I wanted things to be done correctly!!
And many of the steps in the process were a big big learning curve for me — I had lots to figure out along the way, and made many mistakes. I can’t even count how many things I had to re-do, argh. Even so … I’m sorry about being slow. AND, I’m really proud of what my team and I have been able to pull together for you, because I’ve also had a lot of help from some really fantastic people.
To my team of awesome, incredible helpers —
I feel such massive appreciation for you. I know when I’m over my head, and y’all have helped me out repeatedly. Thank YOU!! This Story Pack is possible, only because of the help and expertise I’ve received from you — I could not have done it alone. I am so enormously grateful for you!
So yes, building the Bear’s Member’s Area and adding layers to the Story Pack took much longer than expected, but I hope that you will enjoy the experience, that you will find it helpful, and that you can appreciate the tender care given to the many teeny tiny details.
And for now, please remember, if you are reading to jump into the Bear’s Member’s Area, and to get started with the Saddest Little Bear, you are welcome to do so.
I wish you the very very best in your healing journey, and may you be able to meet and greet and connect with all your new system parts in the very best ways possible.
Warmly,
Kathy

Guess theres like safety stuff right? Cuz when I was pretty diss, attempting to deal with little ones was a major cause for trouble. Really mess me up.
S’ok now. They got good place to stay and the boy don’t hurt them anymore.
Just wondering is all. Usu the system protects, cuz thats what its meant to do. But sometimes they don’t protect in healthy ways.
I PURCHASED THIS LAST WEEK. I WILL ADMIT I DID IT WITH Lori KNOWING. IT BEEN A USEFUL TOOL THIS FAR. EVEN THE HOST Lori LOOK AT IT. IT WAS HARD TO SEE HER HAVING AN EMOTIONALLY REACTION TO SOME OF IT. BABY WANTED TO STEP-IN FOR HER AND CRY FOR HER. ONE OF OUR GOALS HAS BEEN TO GET Lori TO HAVE SOME REAL EMOTIONS.. SO EVEN THOUGH IT WAS SHORT LIVED SHE DID HAVE ONE . THE IMPRESS OF PART WAS THE KIND OF EMOTION SHE HAD. SHE FELT SADNESS SHE HAD A BRIEF MONET OF ACTUALLY FEELING SAD FOR HERSELF. THAT HER BODY WAS MISSED USE AND THAT IS WHY SHE HAS US. i WILL SAY THAT MOMENT WAS SMALL BUT LEST SHE HAD ONE. I THINK ITS SOMETHING TO CELEBRATE.
SO THANK YOU KATHY FOR PUTTING THIS OUT THERE. THANK YOU DISTANT NESS FOR SHARING YOUR STORY. IT WOULD BE NICE TO HAVE IT AS A HARD COPY NOT JUST ON THE WEB.
I dont want the little bear to be sad too
i don’t want the bear to be sad

Hi Kathy,
Well, I just opened up my email a few minutes ago and discovered a notice about having purchased The Saddest Little Bear Story Pack. Seems that my one little insider convinced an older insider to register and use my credit card. I had promised her I would buy the pack but did not get on it fast enough according to her. Now that she knows about what credit cards can do (and has an accomplice who knows how to us it), I am sure that my house is going to be filled with stuffed bears. Hahahahaha!
There is A LOT of excitement going on inside right now. We just started to explore what is being offered. I am so happy to have something to work on with my little ones that is appropriate for them. I try to do things to make them happy and that speak to their little people needs but this is something super special that will offer both loads of fun as well as understanding/healing.
I will certainly encourage everyone in my system who wishes to work through the materials to do so on their own. But, I am hoping to work on some of it “with” some of my little ones who I have been working on building co-consciousness with. I think that it will be wonderful to hold loving space for them as they work through the materials (rather like a mother watching her child play). I hope too to maybe generate internal dialogue with my insiders who want to talk about what they are seeing, reading, feeling, etc.
Thank you so much for creating this adventure for us Kathy. I cannot wait to start.

Oh my! Lolz ME+WE!
Somebody found plastic money! I hope the accomplice knows how to budget. This very thing was a problem in the past for us. It sure can get outta hand quick. Your littles were both just too excited to wait! Communication and cooperation are the tickets to better money management. I hope Squirrel loves the video and reading. And all y’all too. We saw your response on the other page and gotta add here that when we see responses from you our heart gets bigger. TY our friends. Have fun with the pack. We made ice cream and strawberries and snuggled in to enjoy. ♥️
LOL — OH ME+WE KIDS !!!!
The amnesiac “take-over” to get the kids stuff !!! LOL, wow We-Kids — that’s a pretty solid stance, lol. Good for you, and I really really hope you ALL like the story and videos. ⭐️ 😁 🙋 👨👩👧👧
Well…. I guess I have to admit, it might not be so funny in other situations, but since your Big Me was planning on this purchase anyway, it’s all good in the end. AND — gosh — it sure tells you about the power of dissociation and dissociative walls, eh ??!!!
THAT is an important eye-opener in the first place — so Big Me — there’s your first system learning to address in connection to the Saddest Little Bear. You’ve got some work to do to understand how they were able to block you out and do this. Current day time loss and that “d’amnesia” are difficult topics but so so so important to address, for all kinds of reasons, obviously. Are you sure you know who was able to block you out like that? You might assume you know who it was, but take the time to really really check, because you know… you just might also have a new little bear trying to make their presence known for the first time…. !
I’m super glad to hear your kids were (are) so excited about the Story Pack, and thank you for deciding to get it for them. I appreciate that, bunches ‘n bunches.
Oh my gosh — we’ll need to have a Bear party someday…. how on earth are we gonna do that?!!! 🙂
Cheers to you all,
Kathy
Hi,
Well indeed The Saddest Little Bear Story Pack taught me an important lesson with my insiders before we even got to actually reading the story and associated materials!!! Some powerful story is all I can say … hahahaha. ☺
Yes, I can laugh about it all. It is really hard to be angry with an excited little one. I do know who was responsible for ordering the pack because they fessed up right away. Kennedy nailed it – it was my little one (3 ½ years old) Squirrel assisted by my 12 year old boy Tom. Squirrel talks to me all of the time, is rather precocious and is the one who jumps in to try and lighten things up when things get tense. I have learned this through therapy and talking with her – she talks A LOT with me. Oh … and she loves to shop! Tom is sort of like an inside helper as he does take care of the little ones. He has a good head on his shoulders so I do trust his judgment.
The thing is that I had just learned that a friend had died and I was rather preoccupied with grief and things that needed to get done. I think that Squirrel thought that she was helping me by getting the pack – i.e., that it would be something fun for us to have. I have learned that this is really a part of her role in my system – to lighten things up.
I do have shopping protocols established with Squirrel. If she cooperates on other things, she gets to go to the Dollar Store (where everything is a dollar or close to it). I put five one dollar coins in my left pocket to start off. When she puts something in the cart, she has to take one of the dollar coins out of my left pocket and put it in my right pocket. When there are no coins left in my left pocket, she knows that she cannot put anything more in the cart. Purchases in other stores are always negotiable but she knows that she does not always get what she wants or, at least, not the first time around.
Tom really helps me out looking after the little girls. He likes to go off on his own and I have learned to respect that and help him with his “down time”. But, Squirrel panics when he is not around. So, Tom has given Squirrel a magic whistle that she can blow and he will be there by her side right away. Now, Tom does act out to protect me and that has resulted in some difficult situations. I have attempted to set protocols with him about this while still respecting his interpretations and actions on my behalf. We still have work to do there.
So, I am continually learning how my insiders think, act and react. In some ways, I have empowered them by acknowledging them and starting to develop internal communication with them. The more that I interact with them, the stronger our bond becomes but also the stronger they feel in their ability to act more explicitly in the outside world.
Well, I was really stressed the other day and Squirrel and Tom jumped in to help. I cannot be angry with them about that. We will have to talk about it though!!! And, I am not sure how much others may have been involved (i.e., others encouraging Squirrel).
I have a really strong gut feeling that a certain little bear is going to help me open up a whole lot of important dialogue with my insiders. We have started to work through the materials and already I have gotten some important feedback from some of my inside folks.
With excitement, trepidation and a whole lot of curiosity about the adventure ahead of us.

I am so glad you put out something like this for kids. What a wonderful project! My inside kids will be busy with this for a long, long time.
When they watch all the videos, and listen to the stories, and answer all the questions with me and our therapist, then I know they are going to want to do it all again. And again.
Your bear pack is very, very high quality, enjoyable, lots of fun for the inside kids, and very informative.
I can see this as being a great asset for people who are new to being diagnosed with dissociative disorders. You just have a ton of informaton and help in there for people to learn about.
It is also very evident that you put a ton of time and effort into making this project, Thank you so much for doing that!
We really appreciate your time, effort, and expertise that went into this huge project!
It turned out so well, and I am so grateful that our inside kids can benefit so much from your bear pack!,
🌼Congratulations, and nice job Kathy! 🌼
Thank you, Caden.
One of the most asked questions here at DD is what to do when you’re brand new to DID. So… the Saddest Little Bear Story Pack is one of my answers to that question. It’s a solid resource, with lots of ideas, and it gives people a place to start when the DID diagnosis is so overwhelming and confusing.
BUT — I’ve never NOT known a DID survivor to have new parts surface, even YEARS later. And sometimes, the “Oldie Goldie” DID’er’s forget about that, and forget to recognize the symptoms, and forget what to do. So the Story Pack is good for that, too.
And no matter WHEN someone is diagnosed, there are always, always, ALWAYS DID kids who need activities designed just for them. SO you know… kids need bears, lol.
Thank you for your solid vote of confidence in the work I do. I really appreciate your positive attitude, and your encouragement for others. Many stars for you too, and MAYBE just maybe, your kids will let you hold a bear once in a while. 🙂
Have fun, and enjoy your rest while those kids are busy with the Story Pack…. 🙂
Warmly,
Kathy
I’ve been homeless so I can’t afford this now, but if I remember about it when I have the money I’d love to buy it!
Ooooh my goodness, Sally.
Homeless is such a difficult place to be…. I’m so sorry to hear that. I hope where you are there are some options for you, and some kind people to help. It’s a long road out of homelessness, but people can do it. You can do it too, Sally…
And do stay close by too. There will always be free resources here at this blog, and positive help, and solid encouragement and safe guidance — all for free. So no matter what, there will be something here for you.
And I really hope things get a little easier for you soon.
OH — PS — I hope you are on the email list !! If you can, be sure to stay on the Email Newsletter List so you can hear all the news, and get all the latest bits of help or ideas. If you keep checking your emails, hopefully you won’t forget about this site, because I’ll keep writing to you.
Hold tight, and stay close….
Warmly,
Kathy
we be glad some budy else be getting the bears. dont it be so cool?
if you dont got money mabey you could save up. and put 5 $ away every week. and then soon you would have the money. like dont by sodas every day. or dont go to mc donalds a few times. or eat at home insted of go to dinner a cuppol times. or pack you lunch a few times insted of bying lunch.
we no it be relly hard when you got to by medsin. then it be relly hard to save money up.
but mabey oher pepol cuold do those ideas.
then you could save the money that way.
because this bear pack be RELLY RELLY IMPORTINT TO HAVE’!
it be worth the money!
Thank you, Rachel. That’s a very good idea.
Because the Bear Story Packs are going to be available for a long time AND if people need time to save up for them, they can most certainly do that.
Maybe a couple months of saving extra pocket money will be enough to get the Bears ….
I’m glad you can see the Story Pack as important — that’s very kind, Rachel. Thank you.
Warmly,
Kathy
It would be nice if we even had $1 a week to put aside.
As it stands right now, we have enough insulin to last about one week. After that..
Our disctruructive insiders will get their way “out”without even trying.
Just being honest here. Can’t even afford to stay alive.. let alone this,
Hopefully our endocrinologist has some answers soon!
If not then the fact remain this body doesn’t live without insulin. It just won’t function at all without it.
We wish we could but..
Hi Pj,
I hope that you have looked into some of the ideas that Kathy suggested about getting the insulin that you need. Go to the hospital if you run out (they will have to help) and there has been no help from your endocrinologist. Do you have a general practitioner to consult too? How about your pharmacist? I know in Canada there are programs to help folks get medications that they cannot afford. Surely one of these folks will have some answers for you.
I hope that you are not listening to your destructive insiders and not getting help.
My thoughts and best wishes are with you.

Hi hi hi crissy and all the kids an bigs….
Thank you for your interest, and you know what… this is only the first thing. I’m learning lots of new stuff, and there are going to be lots of things for kids, so hold tight and stay close by. I hope you have a bear that is your very dear friend… Maybe your big lady can think of some fun things you kids can do with your bear, just so you can play Bears too!
Please stay close by — and thank you for writing.
Warmly,
Kathy
We see it! We see it!
We got it! Can’t wait ’til we can watch and read and read and watch over and over!
Bears! We love BEARS!
You did all that just for us?? All us dissociation kids out here.
You did it! All yous and your helper people!
You may have to build a whole other site just for this cuz we’re gonna write a lot! Blow up your blog!
You gotta tell about the frustrations and learning how to make the videos too, Kathy!
When you told us on the phone, that was funny too! You can make all kinds of stuff funny to listen to. Just like the muddy dogs! That was funny! Even if it was frustrating too. The lights and noise and learning was funny to hear. We know, you have so much to do and this is too much to ask. Just saying you are fun to listen to and fun to hear how you make upsets fun to hear.
We just bought this and kinda looked it over. Now we gotta go so we can listen and read and hear and we get to be the ones out here to be important too.
Thanks Kathy!
Thank you Kathy!
Thank you Kathy’s helpers!
Thank you Distance Ness
Hi Claire!!! (just in case you see this 🙂 )
hahahaha, Kennedy Kids !!! Y’all are so funny !!!
It’s so cool to see you this excited, and I am super glad you LOVE BEARS !! They are just so wonderful. There were some real baby polar bears born near me not that long ago — soooo beautiful.
And you think people would enjoy my BLOOPERS ?!?!?!!! OH my !! There are definitely some bloopers, and I have thought about that… It becomes a big fussy ordeal to try to film a video when there is suddenly soooo much noise all around the neighborhood. I’ll get better at making videos … and maybe some day get a lighting kit so I don’t have to chase the sun around and around and around… that gets exhausting too, lol.
But you know… it was a hassle sometimes, but I truly truly enjoyed it. I like sending out messages to you kids, and talking to you all in the videos felt really natural. I know for sure, I’m going to be doing more videos…..
And…. there is a whole pile of bears sitting near me, so maybe they’ll keep talking too. 🙂
I really hope ALL you Kennedy Kids enjoy the Story Pack, and thank you so much for showing your excitement. That makes ME smile…, so thank you. 🙂
Happy BEAR day! 🙂
Warmly,
Kathy
in a really tough place financially. Don’t have funds for this offer let alone therapy or even the diabetes supplies we need. We will be out of supplies soon enough and can’t go on without them. Sounds pretty pathetic, doesn’t it? It’s just the truth.
All the time we spent considering a way “out. Our saddest little bears 🐻 hopes that all who find Discussing Dissociation and the maternal here will benefit.
We have personally met and talked with Kathy. We know the value.
Our time has just come to this… 😥 not what we want but it is happening.
Enjoy everyone who can.
Hey Pj,
Oh dear…. that’s a lot of heavy news for a lot of sad sad sad little bears…. I’m sorry to hear that.
Life can certainly be overly full of challenges and dark days, that’s for sure. I don’t know enough about your situation to have a valid solution for your financial troubles, but I can promise you that probably ALL of us here at this blog have felt super tight finances at one time or another. That’s a situation that can change as new opportunities present themselves, so know in your heart that some other viable options may present themselves to you on a new day when you least expect it.
Medical supplies for diabetes are seriously crucial tho’. Several people in my family have diabetes, and staying on regular medication has been essential for them. Surely there is an option for you. Sometimes, the insurance companies themselves will give free or discounted service for people in genuine need. Have you heard of that? Your doctor should be able to help you look into those hardship / funding options.
Just don’t give up, Pj. A challenge can feel overwhelming, no doubt. And there will be solutions or new paths available somewhere.
We did have a GOOD time when we met and talked tho’, hey??!!! That was very good, and maybe just maybe we’ll do that again some day….. 🙂
Hold tight, and know I’m sending gentle hugs your way.
Warmly,
Kathy
Congratulations Kathy and team it looks really thorough and very well thought out. Best of luck with it and subsequent bears to come 😀 It looks like a lot of fun for sure!
Thank you, Astrie….
It was a lot of fun to make…. AND a lot of work to make… but the first one is always the hardest, coz well, … so many changes and errors and “new learning curves” to go through. The main thing… the BEARS ARE HERE, and that’s the best news… finally! 🙂
Thanks for your comment — good to hear from you. 🌞
Warmly,
Kathy
Here’s to hoping its like making new alters and gets easier for you with time HAHAHA. Sorry, had to do it :p
⭐️⭐️***** WOW!! *****🌟🌟. This is the COOLEST THING EVER!! We are so happy this pack is finally out and it totally is worth the wait! !
It has SO much cool stuff Thank you Kathy! we can tell you worked really really hard on the bear pack. Theres so much to watch and read and do with it. Its gona keep us busy for days and days. And then more days and days when we do it all agan.
It feels like a hole bunch of time just with you.
and also we culd even talk about all this stuff with our T. and talk and talk becuse theres lots of good questins and things to think about.
THANK YOU kathy for making this story pack about the bears. We love it!,❤️
Thank you, Pilgrim Kids !!!
I’m really really glad you like the Story Pack for the Saddest Little Bear. I’m super glad to hear that you are going to work thru’ the material a few different times. That’s what is important for DID systems — let EACH insider (or each group of insiders) have a turn going thru’ it. Because…. just because one person reading and hearing things, that doesn’t mean that everyone else heard it or saw it.
So yes, please, go thru’ it over and over, AND.., if someone has trouble staying put and finishing the section they are listening too, that’s a clue too. Did something trigger them? Did they just get tired? Did someone else get pulled out? What resonates the most with them? What section is difficult for them?
You can learns lots about your people by how they naturally respond.
But anyway — I’m SUPER GLAD you are enjoying the Story Pack, and yes, please keep learning! 🙂
Warmly,
Kathy
