Hello!
Welcome to the Discussing Dissociation blog. I’m glad you’ve made it here.
Thanks for coming!
One of the best features of this blog platform is having the free eBook available for anyone that would like a copy of it.
Awhile back, you asked me why I thought it was so easy to see DID. I decided that was a fantastic question, and decided to answer it. Turns out…. it was a much more complicated answer than I could say quickly, so into an eBook it went!
Have you been able to find your copy of 101+ Ways to See DID — Dissociative Identity Disorder Described ?
A few people have had a little trouble finding their way to the PDF download so let me give you a few tips about how to find it.
1. To get the free eBook, you’ll need to sign up for it on the email list.
As you look around the Discussing Dissociation website, you’ll see numerous places to sign up for it. Look at the top right corner of the page, look at the bottom of every post. You probably also saw an exit pop-up that gives you the opportunity again, in case you forgot. (Not that dissociative folks would ever forget…. lol).
After you include your email, and click submit, you’ll see a page saying Thank You for your Interest – Please Confirm Your Request. The first two paragraphs of that page says this:
I’m absolutely delighted you decided to join me. I think it’s fantastic that you are interested in learning more about Dissociative Identity Disorder (DID). Thank you. 🙂
I have received your request for information, but Aweber, (my email service provider), asks that each request be confirmed by email.
2. Check your inbox for an email from Discussing Dissociation.
Look for an email that says: Confirm your request for information.
Check your inbox first, but remember, especially if this is the first time you’ve received an email from you, you may need to look in your Promotions tab, or your Spam folder, or any other of the other weird places that new emails may go.
You could try searching your email for Discussing Dissociation to find it if you don’t see it easily.
This particular email is boring. It’s required by Aweber, my email service provider, and right now it starts with these paragraphs:
Hi! I received your request for information but before I can send you my free report, I need you to confirm your request. Click the link below to confirm.
CONFIRM BY VISITING THE LINK BELOW:
*** If you previously signed up for the Discussing Dissociation email list back on the original site, even if that was years ago, you should have received an email this week starting at this point in the sequence. I’m sorry to see that you didn’t get the first more friendly letter (not sure how that happened), but I wanted to reach out to each one of you. This email would have been sent to you as the former Discussing Dissociation WordPress email list was imported this week into my new email server, Aweber.
In case you weren’t aware that the new site was up, I wanted you to receive your own invitation for the free eBook as well.
However, some of those emails have been there for years, and it was high time to confirm who was still interested in receiving ongoing information from DiscussingDissociation.com .
If you were quicker than me, and if you had already signed up again on this new site, you would not have received an additional “new confirmation” email as your would have already been confirmed via Aweber. Thanks for that. 🙂
3. You’ll see a link in your email. Click on that.
Click the link above to give us permission to send you information. It’s fast and easy! If you cannot click the full URL above, please copy and paste it into your web browser
It’s very important to click on that link, because it takes you to the next page where you will get your free download of the ebook.
So yes….. !
Confirm your email, please and thank you!!
4. You’ll see a new page, “Thank You — Your Email Confirmation was Successful”
This is a very important page to get to because it confirms to me that you are you, and that you aren’t a spammer or a bot. 🙂 See, it’s all good, because this very important information is meant for YOU, not for spammer land.
Don’t click out of this page!
Read on down the page, and there will be helpful information about how to get the Discussing Dissociation emails into a visible place in your email inbox. You won’t have to keep searching for my emails if you follow the instructions provided. You can teach my emails how to find your inbox.
5. Find the image at the bottom of the Email Confirmation page.
Getting to the email with the image is enormously important.
Why ???
Because…. when you click on the image that looks like this….

THAT is where you’ll get your download for the free eBook,
101+ Ways to See DID — Dissociative Identity Disorder Described
Don’t exit the page — click on the picture.
Be sure sure sure you click on the picture before you close this page.
Did I remember to tell you to click on the picture on the Email Confirmation page?
Please click on the picture in the Email Confirmation page.
You’ve seen this picture scattered around this blog, on Facebook, on Twitter…. It’s because this is the image that represents the eBook itself.
When you click on the picture in the email you got from me, the download for the 20 page PDF will automatically start. Yay!
6. Check the area of your computer where downloads go to find your eBook.
Open it up, and voila! There you go!
Your PDF eBook has 20 pages of information, graphics, and visual metaphors showing what life looks like for folks who have Dissociative Identity Disorder.
Look through it, have some time to read and think.
It may look simple, in some ways, but every single item listed is actually quite a complex situation, all on its own. There is really nothing very simple about being DID.
ALSO — PLEASE NOTE:
If you are using a phone / mobile device — you will likely need to download a PDF-reader app for your phone in order for the download of the 101+ Ways to See DID to work properly.
7. Be sure to save your eBook to your computer!
You might want to look back again, and again at this material.
Keep it for a reference.
Remind yourself that you are very very normal for feeling what you feel when you struggle with these things.
8. Be sure to COMMENT here on the Discussing Dissociation blog.
What do you think of the eBook?
I’m very curious to hear back from you. This book was written based on requests by you, the readers here. Of course, I very much want to know what you think about it. I want to know what each and every one of you think!!
So please do comment — let me see what you’re thinking! 🙂

After reading through most of this, I am still not able to find the report. I didn’t receive an email with the link only the “Thank You! Welcome to Discussing Dissociation” asking me if I looked at the book.
Hi Sean David,
Thank you for your interest, and welcome to Discussing Dissociation!
I’ll pass your email over to the Client Care Team to help out. There are a couple different emails that come via the newsletter that have the link to the free e-Book, so keep reading. Here are a helpful hints: click on the puzzle image in the emails, and check to see if the link opened in a new tab in your browser. Also, if you are using a phone vs a computer, you might need a PDF app to help open the eBook itself. A few folks have trouble with the link itself, but no matter what the issue is, Claire or Alex from the Client Care Team will make sure everything works out for you.
I’m sure you’ll get a follow up email from the Client Care Team by Monday or Tuesday.
Warmly,
Kathy
I’m very confused… The email I got didn’t contain a confirmation link…
Hi Damika,
Welcome to Discussing Dissociation.
I’ve checked into the email newsletter and you’ve successfully signed up already. The confirmation email comes right at the very beginning. You must have clicked through it without realizing you were doing that.?? Not sure, but yep, you’ve successfully signed up. That’s awesome — glad you’re here.
Thanks for your interest. I hope enjoy looking around the site. 🙂
Warmly,
Kathy
OK, so where do I find my link to the e-book? I don’t see that either and when I searched dissociation in my email I only had the one message from you.
Hey Damika,
Thanks for your interest.
To open the tab for the eBook, click on the image in the email. And, a second email with the image-link will arrive the next day if there are still questions about how to find the ebook. Now that you’re on the email list, you’ll get a variety of messages from me.
I hope you enjoy the emails. 🙂
Another option: Claire from the Client Care team will be able to help you find the eBook. You can reply from one of the emails, or contact Claire by writing in on the Contact page of the blog.
Welcome to Discussing Dissociation.
Warmly,
Kathy
Found it and found lots of things in it that we dont talk about cause criticized for Or shamed about, programming to die if talk or drving for example – when our old therapist was trying to put us into a singleton model we use to wear our sunglasses but in reality we didnt need to
Definitely questions. What if not every single thing in the book doesn’t apply? What if what we see are the differences in what you wrote and what we actually are? Does that make us one of your “fakers”?
We are feeling so lost right now. So terribly lost and no direction. We don’t want to be someplace we don’t belong because that is a terrible place to be!! The whole questioning of whether the DID thing for us is growing out of control and that is an incredible dark and scary place. We just don’t want any more pain and the “reality ” issues are very troubling.
What now? Does that make us not DID? Psychotic, another preditor.. Lurking for attention, delusional?
What?
Who or what are we if we don’t exactly fit every detail of your book? So confused….
Hi, I’ve also been having problems accessing the e-book. I think I’m signed up to emails because we’ve been following your site for years (love all you write by the way!) I hope the new email you’re sending out will work for us but I just wanted to check our email is on the list? Thank you, sorry if this is confusing or annoying! Thanks for everything you do! Laura.
Hey Laura,
I’m VERY glad you posted a comment, because I had a chance to look up your email, and we are still waiting for you to CONFIRM your email. You’ll have to do that first before it allows you to go further to the next email where the eBook download is.
Thank you for reading here — glad you like it 😀 😀 — and now… to get you that eBook — try looking back through any email from Discussing Dissociation over the past two weeks, and start from the beginning where you click on the link to confirm that your email is a real email.
Follow the instructions carefully, and when you see that puzzle image… that’s what you click on to start the download for the eBook. 🙂
Let me know how it goes!! We gotta get you signed all the way up, girl! 🙂
Cheers,
Kathy
HEY EVERYONE —
PLEASE CHECK TO MAKE SURE YOUR EMAIL HAS BEEN CONFIRMED. WITHOUT A RECENT EMAIL CONFIRMATION — as during Nov or Dec 2016 — AWEBER WON’T KNOW IF YOU HAVE A REAL PERSON EMAIL or a YUCKY SPAMMER EMAIL. WITHOUT THIS EMAIL CONFIRMATION, IT WON’T LET YOU MOVE FORWARD AND GET THE EBOOK or the rest of the cool stuff that follows.
And that’s no fun !!
Everyone is invited to come along !!
So please check to make sure your email is confirmed. If you are unsure, you can ask me, and I can check and let you know.
I genuinely and truly want you ALL to get the eBook and the other fun stuff that comes via email afterwards…. so join in, please and thank you. 😀
Kathy
Hi Kathy,
Thank you for this wonderful, informative Ebook! I did not have trouble getting it downloaded. I love your new blog arrangement. I wish reading here was more comfortable for me, as I have somatic symptoms from reading this material. But I’m still reading. Thank you for all you do Kathy!!!
Thanks for your comment, Rita !
So glad you were able to download the eBook . That’s excellent news.
Some of the topics in this blog are pretty straight forward, and honest, and difficult, and you may be getting a few body memories, or internal messages from your system via the somatic symptoms / body feelings. I’m sure it’s quite common here for readers to get lots of internal body reactions, especially when there is internal conflict about the topic you are reading about.
You’re brave and strong to keep reading, and hopefully, the whole combination will create for a much greater learning experience. Listen to what your system is saying to you, even when they are using body feelings as a way to speak.
Glad you’re here, and thanks for the comment. 🙂
Warmly,
Kathy
Hello Kathy,
I’m having trouble downloading the link- it says it can’t connect to server but I’m in a wifi zone and I can get internet on my phone but am having G trouble downloading – accessing this E-Book.
Will try again this weekend on the computer when I’m available.
Thank you & have a great day!
Marianne in Edmonton,Alberta/Canada
Hey Marianne,
Thanks for the comment. Sorry for all the confusion.
The web tech gal and I have a plan — we are going to send out a brand new email which will include a new link for the download of the eBook. I’m working on that today, and she’ll send it out later, as soon as she does her end of the task.
So as long as you know how (where) to find emails when they get sent to you from this blog, you should get a new email coming from the email list somewhere over the course of the next day or so.
Also, some of the gals here wrote that they were able to find the original emails via doing a history search on their computer. That might be a quicker option for you??
Either way, hold tight, as I’ll get something sent back out to everyone as soon as I can.
Thanks for your patience !!!
Warmly,
Kathy
I can’t get your button to work to get the free ebook. This is where the link goes when you click on it. The dot com is missing. We are already subscribed to your emails. We have been waiting for the book for a long time and we are sad that we don’t have it. :\

Hi Wendy,
Thanks for writing. Let’s see if we can get this figured out for you.
I checked, and I can see that yes, you are subscribed to the email list. That’s the most important thing because that’s the way to find the link for the eBook. So probably, what’s happened, is that you’ve skipped over the part in the email sequence where you were to click on the image for the download of the eBook.
The eBook is not connected to the images here in this blog post. The download for the eBook is connected to the image you would have gotten via your email.
The easiest way to find it is to go back to the email you received with the subject line: Confirm your request for information.
The “Confirm your request for information” email will have a link in it. Click that link.
That will open up a new tab, and show you a page that says “Thank You — Your Email Confirmation was Successful”.
On the “Email Confirmation was Successful” page, you’ll see an image of the puzzle world. Click THAT image. That is the image that is connected to the download for the eBook. There are instructions on that page so once you find that, it will be easy.
Thanks for speaking up, because I definitely want you to get a copy of the eBook.
Let me know if this helps, and if you find the right page and the right image.
Warmly,
Kathy
Hi Kathy, I had the same problem as Wendy. I am sure I am subscribed to the list as I am getting your posts. Is there a way to email the link to me?
Hi Lisa,
Thanks for letting me know you’re having the same difficulty. I’m in contact with the web tech gal because I have a “brilliant” idea that might work. And if it works, it will help everyone to find their eBook easily. I’ll work on that and get back with you when I have something figured out. It will be soon because lots of people are asking.
Thanks for your interest, and persistence.
Oh — and yes, you are definitely subscribed. I see your email on this list. 🙂 Thanks for that! 🙂
Warmly,
Kathy
You’re welcome! A little about me: been diagnosed since 1995 or 1998 depending on who you ask 😉 been blessed with really good therpists for the most part; looks like long-term (permanent) disability is my lot…but everyone has limitations, so its not a huge deal. Mine just keeps me away from extra stressors. I only recently found your site, but it’s clearly loaded with good stuff, so THANK YOU!
Hi Kathy,
Wendy helped me too–I did a quick search in my history and found the link too! I have the e-book now. Thank you both for the help!
Hey Lisa —
All good news !! Fantastic that you found the eBook. Very clever, Wendy, to remind us all about checking the History. 🙂 (I’m so non-techy… I don’t think of those things, lol).
But yay, Lisa — very pleased to hear you found it, and glad you’ve found the site here too. Welcome, welcome, as I try to say to everyone who is new around here. Thanks for getting involved with us here, and I hope you enjoy have a good long look around. Lots to see!
Warmly,
Kathy
Hello, there was a little talking to you this morning. I think maybe she was not clear when she emailed you. 🙂 There seems to be a broken link on the sign up button. She tried to sign up again on your website but the link took her a 404 error. You may want to look into that. The email you sent us got deleted but we typed in the link that you posted in the picture and we were able to find it in our laptop history. Thank you so much for you help. It’s a great ebook, Thank you so much. 🙂 Wendy
OH you found it, Wendy !! That’s fantastic news!
Thanks for sharing how you got back to it. I hadn’t thought about checking into history – but that makes sense. Clever thinking!
I’m working on a plan with the web tech gal to make things easier… because it’s SUPPOSED to be easy. Yeeesh!
I appreciate your patience while I’m working out the bumps in the road. 🙂
Warmly,
Kathy
Hi Kathy,
I luuv ur e-book!! Its very informative yet at the same time simple. I know it wud not just b helpful for me but also for therapists & friends. I cud totally relate to most all of it. We dont hav info readily available here where I live – its a big void! I’ve been sourcing info mostly from the US over the years to help myself.
I find your -book as well as other info ‘fresh’ and with a different approach – not at all like most other info are presented by other sources.
Janeeneeny Bean ?
Thank you Janeeneeny Bean !
I didn’t know you were all the way in New Zealand ! Wow !! Hello hello to you way over there! 😀
I’m very happy to hear that you find my ways of explaining and teaching about Dissociative Identity Disorder helpful and understandable. What kind things you’ve said… thank you. 🙂
Enjoy the site — and I’ll get more goodies up here as quickly as I can. 🙂
Warmly,
Kathy

someone on our AMJ board wants you to know that you have another fan because they really liked your ebook.
