      Hi Marianne,
I am still creating those products you are referring too. I am in the process of writing a series of eBooks for DID healing, including some workbooks and a variety of therapy / healing tools that people can use at home. I’ll be sure to let you know when they are ready to go.
      Glad you’re interested. 🙂
And YOU have a good day too. 🙂

We left a comment a little while back that was not posted. Did we get deleted? Was it out of line? Too mean? Panicking because we are afraid we totally screwed up.

All is well, Jill. I had planned to write a reply to accompany what you were saying in your previous comment on this topic, but haven’t had time to do that. I will post your comment as it’s stressing you… and do my reply when I can. No worries, Jill. All is ok!!

I am posting this publicly as I did email you, Kathy. I am wondering if others are trying to get clarification as well.
I understand all too well about the prepayment. It really is not about that at all. It’s more about… here you go.. Person on the other side of the world. Here is $$$. I hope this happens.
Without any solid form of a time day set.. In advance leaves me feeling uneasy. I have been screwed almost $1000 for something I paid for and didn’t get. I UNDERSTAND FULLY!!!!
You want your money, which I want you paid. What I need and others might too .. Is some sort of agreement. Can there be a compromise?
when buying a ticket to the theater or a ball game. I am fine paying for the ticket to go in advance. I have a “ticket” to go. The ticket sais when I go. the date and time is preset so no one is in the dark. It is a contract between the two people. I have something and you get your reinbbersment for your services. Both parties win in this case. The person buying services gets a notification of time set . Then the person pre pays for the services. You get your money in advance. You wouldn’t be screwed over. Those of us paying for services would get a solid something to go buy. If you scheduled an appointment.. We pre pay for that time.. Then you can “book it” and so can we. If you book and no payment say in two day advance.. It doesn’t happen. I know your time is precious too!
Of course, if illness or other unforeseen circumstance comes up.. There can be a rescheduled time. The contract is in place.. And can be worked from there. Hope that makes sense.

I don’t mean to sound mean.., wondering about the payment part. Right now it is set up to pay prior to appointment. We get taken advantage of enough… So how we gonna know you actually call after spending that much money? I mean.. Is there some sort of guarantee? There is a lot of mention of trust on this blog.. And this is something that would mean someone is going to trust someone else. When we do Therapy, our therapist gets paid our copay after session, one before session. We always know that it is going to happen. We are just trying to understand…

That’s a fair question, Jill. And it’s very ok that you asked it.

And truthfully, I probably have more trust issues about being paid than the “you out there” have about receiving a phone call from me!

Let me explain….. first of all, I’m not answering this about you, specifically “Jill”. I’ll respond to your question to the world of generic everyone out there who may or may not request a phone consultation. So please don’t take anything I write now as a personal statement towards you, because I most definitely don’t mean it that directly.

Why do I have a Pay First requirement???

Well, because it clears the air and removes that whole issue completely out of our Consultation time. I don’t want to waste Consultation time on payment issues / payment concerns / payment instructions. That’s not what the Consultation is about, and I like to have that all done, clear, removed, and a NON-issue before we even get started. We have more important issues to talk about during Consultations than me taking 5-10 minutes to explain the payment process again….

Also, I have been massively “ripped off” in payments so many, many times, I can’t even begin to count how many thousands of unpaid hours I’ve given away. And…. as much as I left myself open to that in the past, I’m really not willing to do that anymore. It sets me up, it sets the Consultee up, it makes a bad feeling for everyone, and it destroys the trust relationship between both parties. Leaving this issue unsettled ahead of time can create tension in the Consultation itself. It gives people the permission to convince me to provide a professional services, on the “promise to pay”, and then there is no recourse for me when that person does not follow through. (And believe me, that happens far far too often…..) I don’t have time or interest in “hounding people” for their payment, because that makes it too yucky and too frustrating for absolutely everyone. I just can’t go down that road anymore.

There were many time that it was insurance companies that didn’t provide the payment, even after saying they would. And THAT is a huge set up, for both the Consulter and the Consultee. So I let the Consultee fight with the insurance company, and leave that between them. It’s not my insurance to fight.

I willingly do tons and tons of volunteer work for the dissociative community. Always have, always will. But I also have to manage a business, and provide a living for myself and my family, pay my own bills, buy puppy food, yada yada yada. So you know… sometimes I gotta charge for my time, knowledge, and specialty information. And then I have the freedom to select when and where to do my volunteer time.

Trust is a big concern of course. Believe me, I definitely understand.

Soon I will have some smaller products available for sale so y’all can test things out on a $20 option, or a $5 option. I just don’t have them done and ready yet. Soon!! 🙂

Hope that helps to explain some….

      Good question, Jill. Thanks!
      Warmly,
      Kathy

I am already busy changing and expanding this blog into a better place, but I think it would be great to be able to speak to some of the readers here. It’s a giant, important part of building a better community here, and I’m looking forward to getting to know more of the people who stop by to visit. I like to be involved too!

In my plans, this is all leading towards wonderful improvements in all kinds of ways. 🙂

Sending warm friendly smiley silly wiggly wobbly waves to you, 🙂
      Kathy 🙂

    Hello Kathy,

I am curious on how this would work with folks in the US as your last post stated you are now located in AU? I am very interested in speaking with someone other than my own therapist as sometimes the intense feelings she brings up in me (transference I believe is the word), well it is very difficult to cope with especially directly with her. I have talked about my feelings with her regarding things, however, I get so frustrated as the feelings are very raw and than I am left hanging for days and at vacation times (10 days at a time, several times a year with no backup), well it is sometimes beyond what I can try and comprehend logically and also emotionally.

Please let me know any information regarding this offer!

    Thank you once again,
    Betty

      Hi Betty,

Yes, I can call anyone in the USA. Or Canada, or the UK, or most countries in the world. I have an international phone line, and will be able to call easily from Australia to wherever you are in the world.

Once you complete the Scheduling Form, and send it to me, (click the submit button), I will receive your information, and we will coordinate our time zones to figure out when a suitable time works for the both of us.

Please have a looooong slow read of the page, DID Phone Consultations , as you’ll get oodles and gobs of information on there about how the phone consultation process works.

Thanks so much for your interest!!
      Warmly,
      Kathy

Isabel more questions. I have at least one therapist I am working with that has expressed the willingness to be a part of this as well. Will there be an extra charge for her to be there during this? I’m not sure how that would work but I do know this therapist is not A DID specialist but seems to be willing to go the extra mile for me. So, I am exploring this as an option for myself and for anyone who is open to the option. Thanks again Kathy!

Hi Jill and Isabel — I appreciate your enthusiasm. 🙂
Your therapist most certainly can be involved, and at no extra charge.
Scheduling will get slightly more complicated having additional people, but it increases the value of the call, if you ask me.
Maybe just putting your phone on speaker?
      It’s do-able. That’s what I know. You’re a go-getter, lol. I’m sure you’ll figure out what works best for you.
      Warmly,
      Kathy

Hi Kathy! I’m excited to see this post! I would like to know if there is a rate for 30 minute consult as well? I may not need the whole hour. I would like that option if it would be available.
Looking forward to maybe talking to you!

I’m open to all kinds of options, so thanks for sharing that.
It would be great to have a chat with you, if and when that becomes possible. 🙂
It is exciting — I agree!
