By Kathy Broady MSW 25 Comments

Hello !

As I’ve mentioned in other blog posts, I am mid-process of writing a variety of e-books and workbooks about Dissociative Identity Disorder (DID/MPD)and other topics related to DID healing.  I will be writing and creating many resources for years to come.  After one project ends, another will start!

Also, the P4 DID Conference is accepting DID artwork to be displayed and viewed specifically for the Friday night Meet ‘n Greet, and to be displayed via the Virtual ZOOM option.

Have DID, might be interested in contributing, but want to remain anonymous. Would rather email than post here.

Kathy, we can’t all agree on this, so we are reneging our prior ok to include. Permission no longer given.

      Hi Kiyacat,
That is also okay, and there is still lots and lots of time yet. So if you as a system need time to work out what is acceptable, or if y’all as a system want to negotiate further with me on the complicated areas, that is also welcome. I’ll send you the stuff via email anyway, so you can have a look at it there. I’m still in the “collecting and gathering” stage right now anyway, so there’s no immediate rush.
      Thanks for your ongoing interest!
      Warmly,
      Kathy

      Yes, thank you!!!!
I’m still working on the “Artwork Permission Form” that I will be emailing to each of you who are interested in contributing your artwork to the eBooks. It’s definitely not too late!! I’m still in very early days of getting things organized.

I’m juggling a few projects at a time, but this one will most definitely stay on the TO DO List until it’s most definitely done. Definitely. Absolutely, and for sure.

Hold tight — I hope to get an email out to each of you in the not so distant future.

I really really appreciate your enthusiasm, and I can’t wait to clear out some of this other work I’m doing to have time to really focus in depth on these eBooks. I’m really excited about them, and can’t wait to tell y’all more as I can.

      Thank you, everyone!!

      Hi Jill,
I haven’t sent out emails for art just yet. I was making a new email, just for art, and messed it up — ha ha ha. Of course!! ** rolling my eyes at myself, lol ** .

But yes, contacting all of you is on my To Do list. So please hold tight… all of y’all with great art will be getting more information soon.

Hi Kathy – I’ve only just discovered your blog – it’s obviously taken me a long time. Seems it’s a long way from Melbourne, Australia. Good to read the perspective of someone who has been working with these types of issues for a long time.

We were diagnosed with DID in early 2003 and have been in intensive psychotherapy since that time (though did have therapy before then too). One of the things we did during this period (as our previous careers weren’t possible for us any more as things got rather too fragmented) was we made and exhibited artwork, most of which was grounded in our personal experiences of DID.
A fair few of the limited edition prints are now in the public collection here: https://twitter.com/TheDaxCentre

If you’re interested, you can see most of what we have here: http://www.kallenakucers.com/ together with some short writings on the background to the various series of works.

As the work is all photo-digital, it’s all available as digital file and I’m happy to organise for you to use any of the works, if properly credited.

    Cheers.

PS – “I” am now no longer “we/us” though that sure doesn’t mean I don’t need therapy any more!

      Hi Kallena,
Welcome, welcome to Discussing Dissociation!! It’s very nice to meet you.

I’ve looked at your art on your sites, and I certainly hope everyone who comes here to read take the time to go look at your art as well. Besides really powerful photos, you’ve got some truly incredible written explanations about DID and how it feels for children. I’m very impressed. Well said, and wow… such impact.

Thank you so much for your interest in contributing here. I’m excited about all that, and yes, absolutely anything / everything will be credited to the artist.

I’ll let you know more when I know more… I’m just at very early stages of gathering information at this point in time.

      Welcome again. 🙂
      Warmly,
      Kathy

Hi- you have some of mine already but I only remember the dual mask one. Do we still get to keep copyright of them? If so, you can use it. It’s been in one other book, but I think there’s only one copy. And I’d like to use it again sometime.

      Hi Kiyacat 🙂
I’m still working out the details of HOW to do this, but my thoughts at this point are for you to be able to keep your own copyright, yes. I am just looking for “permission to print” kind of thing — not to take your work from you.
I will definitely let you know more once I know more.
      Thanks for your interest!
      Warmly,
      Kathy

    Kathy,
Do you Just need a picture of it or the actual piece of art work?

      Hi Sherrywine,
I would only need a digital image of the artwork. I want to be able to include art in the e-books, so the pictures will be placed in the e-book, just like pictures are placed in books.
So the actual artwork — be it a painting, drawing, sculpture, pottery, stone carving, etc — all of the actual artwork pieces stay in possession of the artist. I just want to use a picture of it. 🙂

      Thanks for the question!
      Warmly,
      Kathy

      Hi Jill,
      Excellent news!! 🙂
And yes, of course, you would get credit for your artwork. Absolutely. HOW we do that — that’s what I’m still figuring out. Red tape… ugh!! But yes, I want to be fair to everyone.

My point in the e-books will be to emphasize that the artwork is done by dissociative survivors and that we can learn from there. I’m certainly not trying to take the credit from you. Keeping it real, because hey – I can’t draw what you see in your own head, only you can. 🙂

I will email you, Jill, and that will give you a place to send in your work.

      THANK YOU!!
      😀
