Hey hello, hello —
How are you today?
It was National Dog Day this week, so there’s no reason to miss a chance to talk about our wonderful furry friends.
I’m going to come right out and say it. Yes, I’m one of those people who often likes dogs more than people. I definitely have those moments, and my dogs have been massively important to me. I’m guessing that many of you can relate with that.
As you can see, my younger puppy, Joe Bob, in the picture above, is having some trouble getting his ears to stand up like they are supposed to. He looks a little silly like that, but that’s okay though. I love him regardless.
My older puppy, Pinky, has wonderful big pink “donkey ears”, which are gloriously fun, but she has her own imperfections and quirky ways too, of course.

Pinky, as beautiful as she is, was born with a broken bendy tail. Instead of curling upwards, Pinky’s tail has a 90 degree bend in it, making the last half of her tail point down. You can see it here, in the picture below where Pinky is having a good game of chasey-chasey with Joe Bob on the sandy beach.

My two silver kelpies are great buddies. They play together all the time. Watching them play together brings a smile to my heart and joy to my day. It doesn’t matter to me that they each have imperfections. They are precious, loyal, dedicated, protective and loads of fun. That’s what matters to me.

Thank goodness for dogs. They truly make life beautiful, even on the darkest of days.
I hope you all had a great play day with your dogs on National Dog Day.

What unique quality does your dog have? My Lily Bug is a miniature Dachshund and she’s a diabetic alert dog. We’ve had her since she was born cause we had her mom and dad.
What does your dog mean to you? Lily is my bestest friend. She sleeps with us and goes everywhere with us.
How does your dog make your life better? Lily Bug brightens our day and loves us even when we don’t feel good.
Oh Alisha, your Lily Bug sounds wonderful! I’m especially glad to hear that she is trained to be a diabetic alert dog – that’s such a good good thing. She sounds like just the best friend ever, and what a great helper too. 🙂
Thanks for your comment.
Warmly,
Kathy
since loosing our wolf one year ago we have been lost for someone to see us like buddy did and he still wanted to be with us. We talk and listen to animals and they talk to us too all the time. So after a headache day i stayed up to get your stories cause i feel seen and i have never been seen i always not exist to anyone especially today
Oh Lynn, I’m sorry to hear of your headache day, but I’m so glad to hear that the emails meant something important to you and your kids. You had a wolf — wow!! Animals are really important for me too, especially on holidays. A wolf – super wow! Bet he was truly amazing. Bet he was beautiful. Of course you’ll love him forever.
Hold tight, Lynn. You do exist, and I’m glad to have been a positive part of your holiday this year.
Warmly,
Kathy
