Lunar Eclipse 2014

Hello hello!

How did you sleep last night?

How do you sleep when the moon is out?

How do you sleep during an eclipse or other unusual lunar events?

There was a big freaky lunar eclipse a while back.   I went outside to look but I didn’t see it due to cloud coverage in my area — that was pretty disappointing, of course.  You might have seen it.  Was it incredible and fascinating or was it scary for you?

All this busy night time activity reminds me of the 2010 Discussing Dissociation article, Switching in Your Sleep -– Are you Snoozing or Secretly Awake?  It is one of the most viewed articles here at Discussing Dissociation.

Dissociative trauma survivors often struggle with unknown or unrecognized night time activity in their system.  There are plenty of reasons for that.

This video explains a few of the ways switching and sleeping get tangled together for dissociative trauma survivors:

I hope this is helpful.

Please stay safe!

Warmly,

Kathy

Last night was so weird. we forgot to take our sleeping pills. we have to take them to sleep. but last night when we went to take them we switched. so we ended up not taking them. but caden had a migrane so her went to bed early. and guess what! we slept even without our medisin! we found out this morng. we were so happy!
maybe some day we can get to not take medisin again.and sleep on
    our own.
but we did have such weird dreams. we dremed we was switching a lot. out in public. but we didnt have to hide it! everbudy just NEW about it. and some pepol did be jerks about it. like are ex T and are ex best freind. and some pepol in our family. they did be mean.
so we did be looking for our t. but we couldnt find her anywhere. we needed to find her. so all the dream we was looking for her, and we kept switching. and even tho some pepol did be jerks it did be so NICE and freeing to be abol to switch and not have to hide it! so even tho the dream be sad becuse we never did find our theraist it did be cool to switch and switch and not have to hide it from any one.
we wonder a lot what that would be like.

Now if they would clean house or do dishes, I would for sure appreciate that! I wish they would write a letter about their story or at least leave the lights on inside. So far I think they are perusing your blog at nite just to see your face & feel safe. It works for me, then when they feel safe, they go to sleep … I know because we see you from our phone at nite & I have found my phone all over the house, even in the fridge! Mornings mean find the phone. It’s kinda funny. ?.
And yes – different peeps have different dreams. Once we are all asleep, our nites can be very exciting. Some dreams feel so real. Some peeps wake us up laughing at their dreams. Of course some have sad dreams & we wake up with tears. Ya never know. It’s like watching 3 or 4 movies at the same time but keeping up with each one just fine. Ok the moniter in here says I’m rambling. So Goodnite everybody inside & outside!

Great post! Great video! I take meds to knock me out. Any one of 3 meds I take would render the “average” person unconscious. Some of my mini-mes don’t like meds and refuse to take them so I often wake up to find that there’s been activity through the night. They’re not doing bad things. ..mostly just playing around with the pup, but I feel it at work. Any suggestions as to how to get out little peanuts to go nite nite when they don’t wanna?

    Hi,

This is something that even I acknowledge is a big problem for us. Sleep rarely happens, but when it does….we have been known to “self” injure and get into other difficult positions, having gone to sleep. It was probably one of the first “symptoms” to be acknowledged by any of us, but we haven’t found ways around it. However, like I say, sleep rarely happens, so it`s not too frequent a problem, thankfully.
