You are here: Home / Child Alters / And Then What Happened?

And Then What Happened?

By Kathy Broady MSW 26 Comments

Hi hi hi —     😀   🙂   😆

Have you ever played the never-ending story game?

This is a fun and creative writing game.

I will start the first introduction to the story, and if you will, you all please add the next bit, and then the next bit, and then the next bit.

You can add your part of the story in the comments section at the bottom of this page.  What do YOU think happened next ???

As we each write a new part of the story, we can create our very own fun adventure. We can write and write and write new layers to the story for as long as we want to write.

Let’s start with a picture of two kitty cats to be our inspiration.

20130215-093240.jpg

Once upon a time…..

There was a golden momma cat with the prettiest green eyes in the whole world.  The momma cat was named Mango. Mango had a beautiful pink nose and a clean white chin. She loved her two-colored whiskers! She was a gorgeous kitty cat, but the best feature about her was how kind she was to little ones.

You see, this pretty kitty loved children.

And she was kind to children — and kitten children too — in all the best of ways.

Whenever Mango spent time with young kittens, she would think of how special and wonderful each little kitten was. She couldn’t wait to tell them…..

Read the comments below….   and it’s your turn to write what happened next…..!!

Write your own ideas in the comments below.

Have fun being creative !!!

Warmly,

Kathy

That sound was a Grump! Grumps are furry creatures colored green like dumpsters, with permanently grouchy expressions. It is as though they need every second to declare to the world to just how Grumpy And that’s not difficult. After all, as a species they are called Grumps. “Grrrump” is the sound they make, and even their closed mouths seemed poised to utter “grrrump” at any second. Grumps are generally just one age, but some days they feel older and call themselves Grumppas and Grumpmas. Other days they feel like babies (called Grumpy-wumps) and stomp around a lot.

Cherie Pie and Whiskers got closer and closer to the pond with all the parks. They could hear this funny noise. grrrrrrump. grrrrrrrump.

“WHAT IS THAT FUNNY SOUND?” asked Whiskers with her giant eyes, looking all around. She had never heard such a weird sound. She didn’t know whether to be scared or excited. What an odd sound. Whatever could it be?

Cherie Pie knew what it was. She smiled at Whiskers and said, “Oh, silly Whiskers. That sound is a ……… “

Cherie Pie jumped up and turned a full circle in the air. Rabbits do that when they are excited. “I know, in know, let’s go the Audubon Park. There is a lake and lots of marshes, and frogs love marshes around the edge of lakes. we should be able to see them on the big Lilly pads and hear them. They make really load frog noises … Ribbit ribbit, and their necks fill out like a ballon under their chin. It’s cool. Maybe they can teach us to hop across a pond.” Whiskers got excited; Cherie Pie’ s excitement was contagious. Let’s go … Yippee. And they bounded off together to the park, whiskers trying to imitate Cherie Pie’s hopping skip.

Whiskers and Cherie Bean decided to keep on exploring so they slowly meandered on down the sandy path, sniffing this flower, and that flower, full of ooooh’s and aaaaah’s.

Suddenly Whiskers stopped, and scratching her head, she started talking out loud. Whiskers had never seen a frog, and she really wanted to find one today.

“Hmmmm….”, thought Whiskers. “Cherie Bean, where do you think we could find us a funny ol’ frog? I want to see a frog – a big, fat smiley frog. I think a jumping frog would be so fun to watch. Can you jump higher than a frog, Cherie Bean? Can you? Can you? Where should we go to see a frog?? Can we go? Can we go?”

When she got closer, she saw cherie bean had blood on her nose. So she hop up slow and nice, and cherie bean knew who she was, so it was ok. So whiskers looked at cherie and knew it was ok to lick her nose, and she lick her nose careful and make it clean. she say, does it hurt, and cherie said maybe a bit, but its ok. so then the sat together close a bit, and they were warm, and then they went and played and had fun cuz they were firends. cherie was happy and so was wiskers.

Cherie Bean, a gentle shy floppy eared rabbit. She seems to be always alone. she sits on the outside of a circle, watching from under hooded eyes. The world frightens her.So much noise.
Whiskers stepped softly as she had so often seen her mother do. She didn’t want to frighten Cherie Bean…

Whiskers thought about that, and decided, yes! She did have a good heart! She sure did. And today, her good heart wanted to do something fun. She wanted to play and smile and laugh and do something that brought out smiles from her toes to her nose!

Where was the fun going to be today?? Whiskers decided that she would go for a walk outside. She wanted to see if she could find a happy hoppy frog, or a flippy flying butterfly, or a pushy pouncy puppy. Whiskers loved being with her Momma, but she decided today, she wanted to play with some kids closer to her own age.

hmmmmm…. maybe they could play hop-scotch? Or maybe they could swing on the swings at the park? Or maybe they could go to story-time at the library?

Whiskers had all kinds of fun ideas. Now she just needed to find one of her friends!

So she walked and looked, and walked and looked… and finally! She saw someone! Look over there! There is……

…They felt the same way, especially when they saw that some of their play-mates and neighbours were`nt as fortunate as them, with their mothers and fathers.
Thinking of that, one day they asked Mango”who is my daddy? where is my daddy? does he love me like you do?”.

And Mango looked gently and deeply into the eyes of the little kitten, and put her paw on the side of her little whiskered face, and said, “You are loved Whiskers. You don’t have to do anything.” And Whiskers, who could be a little naughty, thought to herself, “Hmm! If Mama loves me soo much maybe I can be just a little bit naughty and have a little bit of fun. What can I do today?
